Business Development Representative - Remote, open to U.S. applicants and also international applicants (LATAM, Philippines, South Africa, etc.) willing to work in the same timezone (Central) as the company's HQ in Austin, TX.
- This is a contract-to-hire position - starts on a 1099/contract basis, and then becomes full-time depending on success.
- Salary is $30/hour and $100 reward for each qualified appointment that shows up to the meeting.

We are looking to onboard 2 outbound business development representatives.
Role description
As a Business Development Representative (BDR), your primary goal is to book 10+ qualified outbound sales meetings per month with potential customers (founders at Seed, Series A, and Series B startups).
📈 Right now, we have successfully built a pipeline of potential customers through outbound automation and lead generation through a solid partnership with a lead gen agency. However, pipeline alone isn’t enough…
To capitalize on this traction and drive revenue, the company needs a business development team to convert these interested leads into meetings, and then our closer will turn these meetings into $3k-$15k paid pilot projects and then ~$24k-96k+ ARR agreements. Overall, the ideal outcome is for each BDR to schedule 10+ qualified meetings per month.
Owned initiatives
- Cold outreach & lead engagement - Making targeted outbound calls, emails, and LinkedIn touches to our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)
- Appointment setting - Booking sales calls with founders and decision-makers at AI companies
- Custom test offer outreach - Engaging prospects and securing requirements for a free Flight Plan (using our 9-question Client Intake Survey)
- CRM & sales systems execution - Using Close.com CRM to execute follow-up touches. Bonus: practical understanding of multi-channel outbound tools (like Lemlist) and enrichment tools (like Clay.com) to optimize outreach
- ABM (account-based marketing) follow-ups - Coordinating with multiple stakeholders within target companies to ensure engagement
- Daily high-volume activity - Participating in structured 60-minute dialing sessions (2x per day) + CRM follow-up sessions (1x per day)
Qualifications
- Sales hunter - You’ve done outbound sales before and have a track record of hitting appointment-setting goals
- BDR/SDR experience - 1+ years of cold outreach experience (calls, emails, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Strong communication skills - Confident on the phone, great at objection handling, and excellent at follow-ups
- Startup mindset - Comfortable in a fast-paced, early-stage environment where things move quickly
- Tech-savvy & process-oriented - Familiar with CRM (Close.com preferred). Bonus: practical understanding of outreach tools (Lemlist, Apollo, Clay.com), and automation workflows (Make.com, etc.)
- Resilient & competitive - You don’t take rejection personally and see every “no” as one step closer to a “yes”
Key performance indicators
- Meetings booked - 5+ qualified sales meetings per month
- Outbound activity - 80+ calls per day split between 2 “power hour” dialing sessions
- Custom test submissions - Number of prospects submitting test suite requests
- Follow-up & persistence - Staying on top of warm leads and pushing for next steps
